Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh's Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012) Movie Review

Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is a Hindi comedy movie directed by Sachin Yardi, and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The movie is a sequel to the 2005 hit movie - Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. The movie stars Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias in the lead roles.
If someone says, “Leave you your brains behind while you watch ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum!”, please don’t believe him.
After all, only your brain and no other organ will come handy as you try to comprehend those double meaning dialogues that are loaded with sexual innuendos and horribly dirty jokes.
From introducing an eternally horny pug to ‘erecting’ hoardings that read ‘La Whore Dhaba,’ nothing in the film ceases to ooze out perverted jokes that sit on the top of the obscenity ladder.
While the dirty minds, who get aroused by sex comedies are in for a treat with KSKHH, the others will only cringe at all gross one liners like, “Is baar toh main apna impression ‘macho’ dunga” or F***** hai…fakr hai mujhe ispe.” Now, it is not only Hindi that is used and abused by this duo, ‘“Aane Ragdo, Manay Chaat,” sums up what they have done to Gujju’ too!
Talking about the barely there storyline of ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, Adi (Tusshar Kapoor) and Sid (Riteish Deshmukh) are roommates. Adi is a struggling actor who has big Bollywood plans to act in ‘Chingham’ (Singham), Adi’das (Devdas) and ‘Ekta-Tiger’ (Ek Tha Tiger), but my favourite is ‘Bra.One’- whose only motto in life is to support women (Now you know how!). However, Adi ends up endorsing some dreadful yet funny Home Shopping Products like a body-whitening cream, constipation-remedies and vibra-weight loss.
Sid is a DJ (‘Dicks’ Jockey as he fondly calls himself), who churns out moolah not from music but from his pug Fukhru, who is the ‘Vicky Donor’ of dog world. Soon, enter the girls, Simran (Neha Sharma), who is Adi’s lucky charm and Anu (Sarah Jane Dias), whose shirt da button is Sid. Now, the foursome head to Goa, where you’ll meet Anu’s father, Mr.Marlowe (Anupam Kher). While Marlow has an obsession for collecting B-wood merchandise - from Vidya ‘Dirty’ Balan’s blouse to Ramu Kaka’s ‘Sholay’ hand-soap, the pug finds a new passion exploring the Goa ‘bitches’…oops beaches. They are joined in by the depraved Baba 3G (Chunky Pandey), who is more irritating than his earlier Pasta act. What happens next is screw ups and mess ups that will make sense only when you watch the film.
Check out the most funny dialogue in the second half of Kya Super Kool Hai Hum...
The first half of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is taut with never-ending gags and scenes that ‘ejaculate’ crass humour keeping you entertained or at least occupied. However, the same can’t be said about the second half, where the story loses track and jokes become scant. The best one from the second half is Mrs. Rozmary Marlow (read Roz-Meri-Mar-Low). Otherwise, there’s no ‘Bra.One’ to support this falling story. Also, with a run time of 2 hours and seventeen minutes, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is too long for a sex comedy (Bade Achche Lagte Hain, but definitely not in this case!)
Riteish Deshmukh has proved yet again that give him a ‘comedy’ and he will take it to the most satisfying and pleasurable ‘climaxes.’ His eerie comic timing gets a new high when he works as a team, Tusshar Kapoor in this case. Talking about Tusshar, he is at his weird best in this film, which expected him to play weird. Sarah and Neha have no aim in the film, but to show skin and titillate the audience, which they do with elane. Anupam Kher’s skills at comedy are nothing new, however, we wished an actor of his caliber should have steered clear of this. Chunky is as irksome as he could get.
Musically, the songs including, 'Dil Garden Garden Hogaya,’ ‘Shirt Da Button’ and 'Cappuchino’ are already topping charts, though they are only adding length to the story line. The spoofs of are interesting and entertaining. No matter, how much we criticize the crass comedy of the film, the fact remains that all the gags are absolutely original unlike ‘Bol Bachchan, which took it all from Comedy Circus.’ Director Sachin Yardi and the writer can take a bow for that!
Trend of sex-comedies in Bollywood, spearheaded by Masti and Delhi Belly is taken forward by However, it will find admirers in teens who are desperate to play kool and adults with a madcap sense of humour, who don’t mind laughing out loud on all kinda jokes. To watch or not to watch? Take your call!
