Eternity Warriors was a nice surprise two years ago on the App Store, raising the bar of graphics and altering the way developers and players were always thinking of how a mobile game can be so good. Not only are its graphical environments remarkably beautiful, but its animated skill effects, and other visual designs lived up to its title. But it was also short of some major elements that make Eternity Warriors become eternal like narrative, storyline, multiplayer-based exploration, variety of armor, weapons and loot.
So last year developer Glu Games expanded Eternity Warriors on what it lacks for, improving the already great artworks with Eternity Warriors 2.
But that is not enough. On September 26, 2013, Glu Games quietly soft-launched Eternity Warriors 3 in the New Zealand App Store. It’s yet another spectacularly rendered effort that attempts to blow its fans away with two more characters (Mage and Monk), incredibly stunning visuals and in-game real-time chat.
We were into the game for a few hours and playing the three characters. Below are our first impressions on Eternity Warriors 3, the third installment of Eternity Warriors series.
Warrior: Born in the Northern Highlands of Udar, the warrior has been molded since birth to be an unrelenting force in battle. With unmatched courage, he has spent a lifetime fighting all manner of evil.
The warrior’s appearance and animated action sequences are similar to the previous two installments, but if you have acquired some different skills, you will see a lot of new effects that make the warrior unique.
Mage: Elves are rarely seen in the lands of Udar, though they are spoken often in legend. While slim and fragile in appearance, all have heard tales of the awesome powers they hide within.
I’d like to say Mage is much better than Warrior. This character is the only one female. But she is capable of doing something very different. She performs pretty much fast-paced action, swiftly and promptly. Her skills could make her easily dodge any attack coming from whatever directions because she can use long-ranged attack to attack enemies and magical shield to shadow her to a long distance away from enemies.
Monk: Raised in a monastery in Pom’lai, the Monk has been trained to cultivate his eternal energies for use in battle. His blue skin is said to be the result of demonic ancestry.
For me, playing the Monk feels like practicing Kungfu. He performs melee actions when encountering enemies. His skills mostly remind me of Kungfu-themed movies. But overall, I think he is not a preferred choice for any old gamers of Eternity Warriors.
Besides two new characters, I’ve already seen a massive world rendered in super detailed 3D. Compared to the previous two games, Eternity Warriors 3 world looks more stunning and massive.
Other parts like item evolving, weapon upgrading, mission system and skill trees for each character all improve on the original.
After 2 hours into a few dungeons, I run into problems of defeating monsters and bosses. Quickly, I found some players said in the Chat we can team up with other players to co-overcome the difficulties. But I did not use this function.
The most acclaimed action/RPG game comes back with a brand new adventure!
As the last Demon Tower fell, the people of Northern Udar cheered their new hero. Their cheers, however, were short lived. Corrupted by demon magic, the last of the great Dragons unleashed a horrible evil upon the world by unsealing the Eternity Sword. Mawzok'Kahl, Lord of Hell, self-proclaimed Heir to the World, sets his sights on the kingdoms of Udar. And as suddenly as it came, it seems as though peace in Northern Udar has once again been snuffed out.
Northern Udar is in need of a hero once more, more now than ever! Every man, woman and child depends on it, they depend... on you.
